Hardware
Technology Overview
Elliptic has developed an optimum architecture for security implementation that scales from low performance designs
targeted at sensor networks all the way up to very high throughput cipher cores aimed at storage security and
networking. The architecture is effective because the well defined layers can be configured to meet the performance
objective and effectively leverage the system resources spanning both hardware and software. This strategy
moves seamlessly from underlying crypto cores all the way up into the Ellipsys middleware that integrates into the
target operating system chosen by the customer. Ellipsys supports the seamless substitution of hardware resources for
software resources to support optimization of the overall system design. The diagram below illustrates this architecture:

At the cryptographic core level, the designer
can choose from multiple core options ranging
from the Tiny AES core at 6K gates and capacity
in the 1-10 Mbps range all the way up to a
10 Gbps GCM-AES core for Ethernet encryption
The portfolio successfully spans four orders
of magnitude while leveraging a common set
of internal tools and verification environments
to fully meet the needs of Elliptic's
customers.
