TCP/IP Offload Engines
Elliptic has developed a TCP/IP offload engine that is targeted at applications in the 100 Mbps range. The main target market for this engine is cameras whether it is cameras for security, robotics or consumer applications. With the requirement to compress and manage images of higher and higher resolution then share them across either Ethernet or wireless networks, the embedded processors in these applications are having increasing difficulty in managing the load presented by this requirement.
