CLP-37: Camellia Cipher Core
The CLP-37 core implements the Camellia cipher. Camellia has a block size of 128 bits, and can use 128-bit, 192-bit or 256-bit keys with either 18 rounds (if the key is 128 bits) or 24 rounds (if the key is 192 or 256 bits). Camellia is in broad use in applications such as IPsec and SSL and has been accepted for use in the European Union's NESSIE and the Japanese CRYPTREC projects.
Key Features:
- Camellia cipher in Electronic Code Book (ECB) and Cipher Block Chaining (CBC) modes
- Maximum clock frequency 475MHz
- 3.3 Gbps throughput with 128 bit keys
- 2.5 Gbps throughput with 192 and 256 bit keys
- Hardware key expansion logic
- Key sizes - 128, 192 and 256 bits
- 21K ASIC gates
Applications:
- IPsec
- SSL and TLS
- NESSIE
- CRYPTREC
