CLP-32: IPsec/SRTP SPAcc Offload Engine

IPsec is experiencing renewed interest for DSL modems, gateways, firewall appliances and 3GPP handset applications. In parallel, the requirement for SRTP is also developing to secure VoIP and SIP applications. Leveraging the CLP-32 SPAcc (Security Protocol Accelerator), designers can offload the cryptographic algorithms from the embedded processor to build an optimized solution in the 20 to 200 Mbps throughput range at a reasonable gate count. Powered by Elliptic's innovative DMA and sequencing architecture, the CLP-32 offers excellent offload and efficient bus utilization for this class of VPN and VoIP applications.

    • Scatter/gather DMA master for packet traffic to processor memory
    • DMA slave for command and control instructions
  • Configurable cipher and hashing algorithm selection
    • AES-CBC with HMAC/SHA-1 hash for IPsec
    • AES-f8 with HMAC/SHA-1 hash for SRTP
    • Extensible to include support for SSL, WiMAX and 3GPP
  • Optional support for two clock domains - interface and crypto core
