CLP-18: SSL/TLS Record Processor Engine

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) is now in common use for both virtual private networks (VPNs) and e-commerce applications. SoC designers are therefore finding the need to build high performance SSL record processing engines in gateways, routers, switches and SSL acceleration appliances to support this requirement. The CLP-18 offers a complete solution for SSL and TLS record encapsulation, de-capsulation at throughput up to 500 Mbps.

Key Features:

• Full SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0 record processing up to 500 Mbps of throughput
• Supports both SSL and TLS versions simultaneously
• Selectable cipher and hashing suites with embedded hardware acceleration for:
  • ARC4
  • AES-CBC
  • DES-CBC and 3DES-CBC
  • HMAC/SSLMAC (SHA-1 and MD5)
• vRequires 200k ASIC gates
• All key sizes supported except for 40 bit DES
• Cipher and hashing blocks directly available to the processor for session negotiation
• Automatic memory management of packet buffer
• Acts as a processor peripheral
