ESM-02: Payment Card Industry Embedded Security Module
The ESM-02 is an embedded security module targeted at the new PCI (Payment Card Industry) specification. This specification requires that merchants maintain sensitive information such as credit card numbers; personal identifier numbers (PINs) and other customer information in encrypted form. The specification includes the encryption and key generation requirements and criteria for robustness against common attack techniques such as physical attacks and power analysis. When integrated, the ESM-02 provides a robust security design that is fully compliant to the PCI specificationp>
Key Features:
- AES and 3DES symmetric encryption blocks
- Asymmetric encryption supporting RSA 1024 and 2048 bit operations
- Timing and power attack (SPA and DPA) resistant
- AMBA/AHB interface available
- Hardware true random number generation
- Low level API in C source code
Applications:
- Wired and wireless point of sale (POS) terminals
- Smart cards
- High security module (HSM) designs
